Drink Until 4 A.M.

cocktail small

Bill SB 635, if passed, would allow cities in California to dictate their own closing time for bars and clubs — which is to say that they could stay open until 4 a.m. like London, New York, Miami and all those other rockin’ cities around the world.

Do you care about drinking later longer? Not sure if it’ll do a lick of good, but you can sign the petition here.

Shopping Gall

???????????????????????????????

The Beverly Connection mall on the corner of Beverly and La Cienega was always a dump, and there was little reason to go there except for a couple of discount stores. For the past  year, they’ve been sprucing it up, adding more shops and food options, and then the piece de resistance — a CityTarget.

Predictably,  the place has become a complete nightmare. Getting in and out of there is road-rage inducing. They need to employ staff on every level directing cars to drive forward. Drivers, unsure how to manage to 2-inch speed bumps, go over them at a glacial pace. Then there’s the backup as you pay on your way out. Where I come from, people don’t generally pay to park to shop anywhere, and never at a mass market chain like Target. So I have never understood all the shopping malls in LA that charge for parking. It’s too late to add more exits and entrances, but Target has to institute some sort of validation here, right?
