Dead On

There’s a quirky little museum in Hollywood called the Museum of Death, run by husband-wife team J.D. Healy and Cathee Schultz. It features all things death related … serial killer art, taxidermy pets, funerary antiques, Manson Family memorabilia, post-mortem photos, autopsy equipment. It’s not for the squeamish, but it is pretty fascinating (just brace yourself for the car crash photos). And on Wednesday, Nov. 28th, the museum gets its very own reality show on Science Channel, called “Death Dealers.”

For more photos, check out this visit report from Laughing Squid. Word has it that antique burial suit will make an appearance in the show….

Everyone’s talking about Hostess lately. Something tells me we’ll still be able to find them on store shelves, don’t worry.

A Very Hollywood Halloween

Halloween in Hollywood is a unique mixture of sex, violence and law enforcement. Shawn Nee, aka discarted, spend the night of October 31 documenting the fun and disorder on the Boulevard and captured, as to be expected, lots of butts and nipple slips and police wielding batons. You can see the results in his photo essay here.
